Carus Takes Meaningful Step Toward Sustainability with Carbon Literacy Training

Published Friday, 12th December 2025

Carus Animal Health Business Development Manager, Chloe White RVN, has completed the Vet Sustain Carbon Literacy Course - an important step in advancing the company’s sustainability ambitions and its commitment to environmental responsibility within the veterinary profession.

The course, run by Vet Sustain, aims to provide veterinary professionals with a deeper understanding of the science behind climate change and the role the profession plays in contributing to global emissions. More importantly, it focuses on empowering individuals to take actionable steps, both personally and professionally, to reduce their carbon footprint.

Reflecting on the training, Chloe described the initial emotional challenge many participants faced when confronting the stark realities of climate change. Feelings of stress, overwhelm, and helplessness were common at the start. However, the course fostered a notable shift in mindset. By the end, attendees reported feeling “empowered,” “inspired,” and “positive” about their ability to contribute to meaningful change.

“When I joined Carus in February 2025, I expressed an interest in becoming the company’s Green Lead. The idea was met with enthusiasm and full support,” Chloe shared. “With the launch of GIQuest earlier this year, it felt like the right time to ensure our company’s growth was aligned with strong environmental values.”

Recognising the importance of a structured approach to sustainability, Carus Animal Health reached out to Vet Sustain for guidance. The Carbon Literacy Course was recommended as the first step. The training proved to be both eye-opening and hopeful.

“The key takeaway was the power of individual and collective action. Small, consistent changes really do matter” reflected Chloe.

As a next step, Chloe is looking to develop a company-wide Sustainability Policy. The aim is to identify actions the fully remote team can take individually, while also reviewing the supply chain to pinpoint opportunities for reducing the company’s overall carbon footprint.

Carus Animal Health is proud to support the continued development of its team and is committed to integrating sustainability into all aspects of the business. The company looks forward to sharing its progress in the months ahead.
